Large fig, very lengthened, very sweetened, purplished skin, pink flesh (France) (043) This large fig with the very fine skin is collected twice per annum when the weather is sufficiently hot; once in July and second once at the end of August, with a heavy crop. Deep blue-purple, [has] much juice and perfume. Originating Afghanistan, the fig tree pushes well in dry, fertile grounds and slightly limestones, in hot and sunny areas. Not very demanding, it's adapted with poor grounds and even if wood freezes, it can set out again as long as the roots are intact. This tree is seldom attacked by the diseases.
