MORE INFO ABOUT BIRD CONTROL
The most effective control of birds for larger trees is done by using bird net. Any size net which completely encloses the tree will be effective against birds. It is generally available at stores such as nurseries, Home Depot, and from on-line sources such as Bird-X. However, the 1/2" mesh is still to large to keep out fig beetles. For this, I found that 1/4" mesh birdnet from Bird-B-Gone was the perfect solution.
